From those who have been helped: I praise the Lord for Celebrate Recovery. Through working the 8 Principlals/12 Steps, I am being set free from my addition to food. More than that is the freedom and peace I have found for the first time in my life. By focusing on God and putting Him first, He is showing me His love for me in a greater way each day. I encourage anyone who struggles with an eating disorder of any kind, (overeating, anorexia, bulimia) to come and allow God to set you free. Proverbs 23:20-21 ~Wendy
Celebrate Recovery has changed my life. I started going as soon as I wanted help with my addictions and if it weren't for this wonderful support group I would definitely not make it on my own. I made many great, supportive friends who help me with my recovery and with my relationship with the lord. ~Amber
My name is Charlene I am a believer who struggles with alcohol. I have been attending Celebrate Recovery for 2 years at First Bible Baptist Church. Celebrate Recovery has helped me to overcome my hurts, habits hang-ups from the past. Since attending Celebrate Recovery I have grown closer to God and to my family. I have developed a strong support team at Celebrate Recovery, and I know that I have people I can call on when I am struggling and I need someone to listen to me. I would recommend to anyone that is struggling with any addiction to get involved in Celebrate Recovery it changed me and I know that it can change you if you just give it a chance.
My name is Peggy and I am the parent of an adult son who is in recovery from drug and alcohol addictions. I started coming to Celebrate Recovery because my son needed a ride. I've continued to attend because I found I was learning how I can help myself in dealing with his addictions. The group is very encouraging for my son and for me. It is reassuring knowing that I can talk to others who are in the same situation that I am.
From some of the leaders:
Sam Sunseri, Assistant director of celebrate recovery F.B.B.C. I have been attending celebrate recovery for two years and now assist Mike with teaching lessons and other leadership responsibilities. This includes introducing people to our ministry and demonstrating to them the commitment necessary to help change their lives. This is accomplished through the application of the Bible; the eight principles of Celebrate Recovery and twelve steps into their lives. We display the introduction video, produced by Rick Warren and John Baker founders of Celebrating Recovery, and discuss how Celebrate Recovery can help them. I attend as well because I need help with the addictions in my own life. That's right I suffer with addictions and because of this fact and the condition my life was in just a few short years ago, God showed me I needed help. I realized I wasn't gong to make it on my own. He asked me a question one day: wilt thou be made whole?? John 5:6 I wanted to be made whole, how about you? God is waiting to help you and so are we at Celebrate Recovery.
